📐 1. Earthwork Cut & Fill Volume Calculation
In construction and land development, cut and fill volumes determine the amount of earth to be excavated (cut) or imported (fill) to achieve a desired grade. The grid method divides the site into cells, and for each cell, the average depth of cut or fill is multiplied by the cell area. This calculator supports custom grid sizes (up to 10x10) and multiple sections, with a color‑coded heatmap for easy visualisation.
Cut volume: Sum over cells where existing elevation > design elevation.
Fill volume: Sum over cells where design elevation > existing elevation.
Net volume = Cut – Fill (positive = surplus, negative = deficit).

📂 3. How to Use the Calculator
- Select grid size (rows x columns). The grid will automatically generate input fields.
- Enter existing elevation (top) and design elevation (bottom) for each cell.
- Set cell area (m² per cell). Total area = grid cells × cell area.
